Come Celebrate an Old Fashioned 4th of July! Sponsored by 4 R KIDS - 2008


















ROCKETS LAUNCH: Sponsored by 4-H - New Program
At Logan Field 8:30-9:30 a.m.
All rocket launchers MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Bring your own rockets.

PARADE:
Sign-ups beginning at 10 a.m. at the Best Western parking lot/gazebo.
Parade starts at 10:30 a.m.
Groups are divided by categories (bikes, trikes, walking, floats, motorized, equestrian, etc.).
Decoration for bikes, etc. will be available for participants if needed.
Parade led by Boy Scout Troop #17.

FLAG RAISING: Fire Dept - Main St.
10:30 a.m.; parade will immediately follow.
Flag Ceremony by Tonopah Volunteer Fire Dept.

LUNCH: Fundraiser sponsored by the Class of 2013
Barsanti Park
11 :30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (immediately following parade)

SWIMMING EVENTS: Tonopah Public Swimming Pool
12:00 'til done - Categorized by age

HORSESHOES: High Desert Showdown / "Sanction /
Jackpot Horseshoe Tournament"

Ribs from cook-off will be served for dinner in addition to potato, macaroni and green salad, BBQ beans, dinner roll, drink and homemade pie OR - hot dog(s), salad and drink for the little (and big!) kids. Cost is $6 per adult, $4 for kids and seniors.

Business Symposium

The Tonopah Chamber of Commerce along with the Rural Nevada Development Corporation and Nevada Microenterprise Initiative are conducting a Business Symposium June 25th, 2008 at the Convention Center located at 301West Brougher Avenue. This event is being sponsored by Citibank. Brief presentations will begin at 5:00 pm and immediately following there will be representatives from various agencies that can take time to speak with you individually.

The purpose of this symposium is to give existing business owners and potential business start-ups the opportunity to meet with local, state and federal resources that assist business owners in the areas of expansion and start-ups. Joining the Rural Nevada Development Corporation and the Nevada Microenterprise Initiative will be the Nevada Small Business Development Center, the U.S. Small Business Administration, USDA – Rural Development and Nevada State Development Corporation. Come take advantage of these resources coming together in one place for your business needs!
